Fillings

Fillings (also known as "restorations") can be used to restore your chipped teeth, restore teeth affected by decay or to improve the look of your teeth.

Amalgam or Silver Fillings

Amalgam fillings are strong and durable and are useful for larger fillings. While the majority of fillings placed are the tooth coloured “composite” fillings, we can offer amalgam fillings where appropriate, or if they are requested.

Composite or tooth coloured fillings

Composite fillings are very popular as they look remarkably like the tooth’s natural surface. Unlike amalgam material which requires retention grooves, the composite material bonds to the tooth structure, leaving more of the natural tooth intact and offering significant advantages in esthetics, wear resistance and fracture toughness.

Inlays and Onlays

Inlays/Onlays are fillings made from either porcelain, porcelain fused to metal or all metal or gold alloy. They are bonded to the cavity and can cover most of the tooth (onlay) or just the cavity portion of the tooth (inlay). They are a very strong and durable option for tooth restoration.
