Root Canal Therapy or Endodontic Treatment is used to treat teeth that have been badly decayed or damaged and have consequently caused the pulp inside the tooth to die or become infected.

Root canal treatment is like having a filling inside the tooth all the way down to the root ends. The canals are enlarged, shaped and cleaned from debris and infected pulp. Anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory medicines may be placed inside the canals during the procedure to help stop the inflammation and infection.

This treatment is performed over several visits.

The tooth can remain and function normally inside the mouth without its pulp as it is nourished mostly by the tissues around it.
